I’m Nathan & This is The TRVL Blog
Most people want to travel, but sometimes the idea of coming up with the funds for travel can be a deterrent. Before I went on a 6 month trip to South East Asia back in 2013, I was one of those people. Me, travel Asia for 6 months? ‘No way, that’s too expensive’. I’m sure many of you have had this thought as well. ‘I can’t afford to travel’, ‘where will I come up with the money?’, ‘Travel is too expensive’. Well, that trip to Asia has shown me that travel doesn’t have to be expensive. In fact, travelling on a budget is possible and it can be done.
Launched in 2016, The TRVL Blog is a site offering the best tips and stories I could possibly give to all you budget backpackers out there. The TRVL Blog was created so that I can show you just how easy it is to travel the world on a budget. Once you know how to travel for little to nothing, it becomes easy. It’s just about getting the right information to help you along the way.
If you love beautiful beaches, delicious food and exploring new and exciting places without breaking the bank, then you’re in the right place!
Why The TRVL Blog?
Are you sick of reading travel blogs which offer recommendations all because they have been paid to do so? Well, I know I am. When you search for travel hints and tips, you want honest and genuine advice, am I right? Well, that’s what I do differently here at The TRVL Blog. All my contents, recommendations and tips have come from my personal experience.
I will never take money from websites, tour companies, restaurants, accommodation for promotion through my website, I can guarantee you that.
Who Am I?
Last, but not least – I’m Nathan. I’m the face behind The TRVL Blog. I was born and raised in Manchester, UK. Growing up, I never really yearned for a life away from my home city. Prior to my first big trip in 2013, the furthest I ever lived from Manchester was a 40-minute drive away in Sheffield, where I went to university.
Following university, I moved back home to Manchester and started to think about getting a job and planning out my career. You know, the usual. The career thing didn’t exactly go to plan and I ended up in a job which I ended up despising. After just over a year in that role, I thought to myself ‘is this really want I want to be doing with my life?’. I had never travelled outside of the Europe, the longest holiday I’d ever been on was the usual 2 weeks. I had some savings behind me from my job and a few friends who were already travelling and I thought to myself, why can’t I do that?
Well, I could and I did. I and my girlfriend booked a flight to Thailand and I quit my job. That’s where I began my first big trip and where my love for travel began.
I’m not a full-time traveller. I’ve had to work and save up before each of my trips and I’ve also saved up while living in Melbourne on a working holiday visa. I’ve learnt you don’t need to be rich to travel and also how to savour every last moment of each trip.
